The Supplementary Aids and Services (SaS) Consideration Toolkit provides IEP teams a process to determine the supports and services a student needs in order to be successful. Using the SaS Toolkit, teams analyze the instructional, physical, and social environment of a general education classroom from the perspective of an individual student. The intended outcome of using the SaS Toolkit is to identify a list of environmentally-referenced supplementary aids and services to enhance participation and learning for a student with a disability in the general education classroom.
The purpose of this webinar is to provide school staff and families with information about the SaS toolkit process. Topics to be discussed during the webinar include: benefits of a SaS Toolkit facilitation; the logistics of a facilitated toolkit; available online resources; and the requirements to become a trained SaS Toolkit facilitator.
Objectives:
- Explain the benefits of the SaS Toolkit process
- Identify the steps to the SaS Toolkit
- Discuss online resources for the SaS Toolkit
- Describe the requirements for becoming a trained SaS Toolkit facilitator
