The content featured in this professional development opportunity will build participants´ knowledge of supporting culturally sustaining disciplinary practices in the classroom. These professional development sessions will provide participants with information to enhance the design and implementation of their own CRPBIS action research projects.
Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Discuss the role of the Action Research Project within Pennsylvania´s CRPBIS work
- Explain the Ladder of Inference and the Cultural Proficiency Continuum
- Describe the Social Identity Wheel and Bias
- Discuss vulnerable decision points and potential neutralizing routines
Audience
Teachers participating in the CRPBIS Action Research project. This may include k-12 teachers instructing core content as well as ancillary content (music, art, physical education, etc).
