Increasing Academic Expectations with the Alternate Eligible Content: Creating Lessons

Instruction and student mastery of content can be linked to carefully crafted and implemented lessons. Based on previous webinars that discussed strategies and necessary components to teach academic content aligned to the alternate eligible content, this webinar will pull it all together with explicit examples of lesson plans across grade and Math/ELA content.

Objectives

  • Identify basic components of lessons using direct instruction including identification of student communication/language preferences
  • Describe strategies to implement during instruction that will engage learners and shape learning towards identified targets
  • Name data collection tools that will inform teacher directed instruction, student learning and mastery of identified targets

Special educators, special education administrators, parents, PASA assessment coordinators, IU consultants
