This 2-day workshop is offered in order for Pennsylvania teachers of students with visual impairments to receive training on the Unified English Braille (UEB) code that has been implemented in the United States on January 4, 2016. An explanation of the changes between UEB and current code will be provided and discussed. On each day, participants will have the opportunity for hands-on practice of various UEB examples with discussion to follow. The first day will focus on “literary” materials while the second day will focus more on technical materials. Example documents transcribed in UEB will be reviewed. Participants will also engage in a discussion regarding the Pennsylvania proposed state implementation plan.
