Prevent Teach Reinforce for Young Children (PTR-YC) is a manualized team based process for functional behavior assessment and development of positive behavior support plans.  During this workshop, participants will outline the overall PTR-YC process, learn about the variety of forms and their purposes, and apply strategies to Prevent challenging behaviors, Teach appropriate alternate behaviors, and Reinforce desired behaviors of young children.

Objectives

Participants will:

  1. Describe the purpose of PTRYC.
  2. Match PTRYC forms to their intended uses.
  3. Explain why a team process that includes family members is essential to PTRYC.

Target Audience

PTR-YC is for those individuals who attended the Module 3 Professional Development Instructor’s Institute and Early Intervention Program Staff - specifically Itinerant teachers or those who support behavior plan development.
