Advanced Practices in the Use of ROI for SLD Determination
Session Dates
Friday March 22, 2019 8:30 AM - 11:45 AM - PaTTAN - EAST
Closed
As cross-disciplinary teams become more sophisticated in their understanding and application of Response to Intervention (RtI) Methodologies, practitioners have requested support with the consideration of Rate of Improvement (ROI) toward SLD determination relative to other contextual factors, including the effectiveness of the school’s multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS). Participants will briefly review the conceptual underpinnings of ROI and learn how to make contextually-informed decisions use ROI trajectories. Exemplars for writing evaluation reports using RtI Methodologies will also be shared.
Objectives
- Describe the conceptual underpinnings of Rate of Improvement (ROI)
- Calculate ROI using progress-monitoring data
- Apply ROI trajectories within context toward SLD Determination
- Analyze sample ER regarding use of RtI as part of SLD Determination
