Project MAX is committed to providing support to the external and internal coaches who work with the teams in implementing the principles of providing access to instruction in the general education curriculum. Coaches from all four cohorts are invited to attend this day to discuss their role as a coach and how they are performing that role. Tools and resources that can be utilized in working with teams in analyzing survey results, providing access and problem-solving will be shared.
Objectives
- Develop one way to review and practice using various coaching tools and strategies.
- Identify coaching opportunities around communication, especially adult partner behavior
- List strategies for prompting and responding to student communication, especially AAC.
- Define three strategies for observing and coaching in the classroom around student communication.
Target Audience
Project MAX internal and external coaches
Individuals attending this course must arrive on time and stay the duration of the course in order to receive Act 48 Professional Education hours. Requests for exceptions are to be brought to the attention of the individual´s Superintendent or IU Director prior to the course.
