This 5-module course will focus on integrating technology for blind and low vision students including those who are deaf-blind. Each module will be comprised of a recorded and live session.

Module Topics:

  1. FVLMtA: How to link evaluation data to students’ needs for technology
  2. Needs assessment and writing technology goals for the IEP
  3. Dueling Devices: How to select and justify appropriate technology for students
  4. How to Scale up Students’ Digital Literacy Skills
  5. How to Teach for Conceptual Understanding


Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Link evaluation data to students’ needs for technology
  • Use task analysis to write technology goals for the IEP
  • Justify appropriate technology for students
  • List ways to scale up student's digital literacy skills
  • Describe conceptual understanding

Target Audience

Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments, Orientation and Mobility Specialists, AT TaC, Educators who work with students who are blind or visually impaired
