Join fellow practicing special education administrators for a collaborative discussion on Virtual Learning. Discussions will focus on current instructional design and delivery models as well as creative staffing solutions. Use this opportunity to engage with other PA special education administrators to learn how they are leading and supporting the design and delivery of virtual instruction for students with disabilities.
Discussion Topics For Breakout Rooms:
1. Current instructional design model
* What website software, apps, etc. is your LEA utilizing to assist with engagement?
*How is instructional design differentiated for students with disabilities?
2. Current instructional delivery model
*How is your LEA transitioning from a possible hybrid structure to full virtual or full live, etc.?
*Describe what synchronous and asynchronous instruction looks like within your LEA.
*Share any protocols being used for virtual meetings such as Zoom, Google Meets, Microsoft Team, etc.
*How is instructional delivery differentiated for students with disabilities?
3. Creative staffing options
*How is your LEA utilizing paraprofessionals?
*What does coteaching look like virtually?
4. Resource sharing
* Come prepared to discuss resources that support teachers/students in virtual learning including websites/apps, sample wording used on IEP documents, etc.
** When registering, you are acknowledging you are a current special education administrator (i.e., director, supervisor, or hold supervisory responsibilities for special education programs within your LEA).
