This workshop will inform users about the DIBELS 8th Edition Zones of Growth Goal-Setting tool and how it can be used to set goals and monitor progress for individual students and groups of students within multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS). Participants will learn about the importance of setting reasonable yet ambitious goals and best practices for setting these goals. Participants will learn about key updates to DIBELS 8th Edition that aid in the goal-setting and progress monitoring process. Participants will also learn how to use the Zones of Growth tool to set goals, monitor progress, and evaluate the effectiveness of instruction for individual students and groups of students.

Participants will be able to:

Explain how progress monitoring and goal-setting are essential to data-based decision making within MTSS.
- Identify key updates to DIBELS 8 intended to support with instructional decision-making.
- List the essential components of DIBELS 8 Zones of Growth for setting goals, monitoring progress, and evaluating the effectiveness of instruction.
- Describe how DIBELS 8 Zones of Growth can be applied to instructional decision-making within MTSS
