This session is for BrainSTEPS Team Leaders to update their capacity to effectively motivate and facilitate their BrainSTEPS team to provide educational consultation and training to schools in Pennsylvania following a student’s Acquired Brain injury (TBI or nonTBI). The majority of this workshop will be spent reviewing the BrainSTEPS Standards of Practice using case studies and discussing individual team interpretations of the Standards of Practice. The remaining portion of this workshop will focus on BrainSTEPS updates and program Best Practice Reviews using team satisfaction survey and ORBS data.

Objectives

  1. List at least three ways that the new BrainSTEPS forms can be used when working on student referrals.
  2. Describe various types of BrainSTEPS cases that teams have encountered over the past year and rising themes
  3. Restate the new Standards of Practice within their IU region, how to use it within their team, and how to explain it to their team members.
