Cross-disciplinary teams who are vested in MTSS Implementation often struggle with making complex decisions based upon the data collected within Tiers 1, 2 and/or 3, as it relates to determining Responsiveness to Intervention (RTI) and whether to proceed with the SLD eligibility process. This session will review regulations, research and best practices in SLD identification, in addition to frequently asked questions regardless of the approach a given school uses (RTI or Ability-Achievement Discrepancy).

Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  1. Differentiate between MTSS & RTI
  2. Identify practices and processes that align with legal mandates and regulation regardless of the approach a given LEA is using
  3. Define Best Practices and Research in SLD Identification
