The number of available apps available for iOS and Android devices continues to grow every year! This session will cover the latest and greatest apps and updates on both platforms, building upon my introductory workshop on apps. We will highlight some new apps, including speech-to-text apps and websites, talk about wearables, and discuss upcoming features such as automatic video captioning as well as integration with personal amplification and implantable devices. Be sure to bring your device!

Speaker biography: Tina Childress, Au.D., CCC-A, is an educational audiologist in the mainstream and residential school settings. She is also an award-winning presenter, adjunct lecturer and mentor for children and adults, and is active on various local, state and national Boards and Committees as well as social media. As a late-deafened adult with bilateral cochlear implants, her areas of expertise include (hearing) assistive technology, accessibility (especially in the performing arts), apps and psychosocial adjustment to hearing loss. She has created numerous online resources on a variety of technology and accessibility-related subjects in an effort to help individuals who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing connect to the world around them, including in these pandemic times.
