Session Description: 
In this session, participants will explore ways to embed rich language instruction throughout the day for students learning to communicate using AAC. Topics covered will include essential communication partner strategies as well as effective techniques for supporting language learning (including the Descriptive Teaching Method created by master clinician Gail Van Tatenhove). Throughout this session, the critical importance of engaging students and capitalizing on their interests will be highlighted. Ideas for tweaking typical instructional activities and lessons to make them more fun for students will be discussed.

Speaker Bio:
Lauren S. Enders, MA, CCC-SLP is an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology (AT) Consultant working for the Bucks County Intermediate Unit in Eastern Pennsylvania. Lauren presents at national and international conferences as well as smaller conferences, webinars, and podcasts.  Lauren is well-known in the AAC community for regularly sharing AAC, AT, and special-education related resources on her professional Facebook and Pinterest pages.
