Do Sharks Sneeze?
This session will focus on using the activity of a read aloud to engage students who use AAC in participating in the reading process. Participants will explore choosing vocabulary, use a read-aloud process, learn about modeling, and questioning strategies. Resources will be shared.
Kendra V. Bittner, M. Ed.
is an IDEA Training and Consultation Assistive Technology (AT) Coordinator for the Allegheny Intermediate. She has a bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders (Speech Pathology and Audiology), a master’s degree in Special Education with a Specialization in Deaf Education, a Supervisor of Special Education Certificate, and an Assistive Technology Applications Certificate from California State University at Northridge and is currently a doctoral student at Slippery Rock University. Her primary focus is on assistive technology, including the areas of communication, access, reading, writing, and Universal Design for Learning.
