Session Description:
This session will discuss language intervention strategies for beginning communicators using high-tech AAC in a variety of settings and establishing buy-in from the team. The session will cover recent research on vocabulary selection, features of an immersive classroom and factors that influence buy-in from therapists, teachers, and caregivers.
Speaker Bio:
Lindsey Paden Cargill, M.A., CCC-SLP is a speech-language pathologist and Director of Therapy Services at Bridgeway Academy, an education and therapy center for children with autism in Columbus, Ohio. In addition to managing a large therapy department and providing AAC therapy to a variety of clients, Lindsey partners with The Ohio State University conducting research in the area of AAC.
