We are always looking for ways to encourage students to use their SGD. This session will demonstrate how to use the device including writing and computer access; using a phone to text and make calls, and having fun with Alexa. Brad Whitmoyer, owner of his own consulting business and device user, will join us to demonstrate how he relies on these tools.

- Describe how to use an SGD for simple writing and also for more complex computer access.
, joined PRC-Saltillo as an AAC Consultant in 2022 after serving as a Speech/Language Pathologist and AAC Consultant for Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12. She also previously worked for the Center for AAC and Autism as a LAMP educator for 5 years. After working with children in the school setting, Rebecca found a definite need for AAC and it quickly became her passion for working with individuals who needed AAC solutions.
Darlette Navrotski, M.A. CCC-SLP
, has served as a senior consultant for PRC-Saltillo for 35 years. She serves Western PA providing education, training and support to individuals (and their families/teams) who seek an effective way to augment their communication. She has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh where she assisted in teaching classes on AAC.
Amanda Samperi, M.S. CCC-SLP
, is an ASHA-certified SLP with a particular love of AT and AAC. After working for several years in the school, home, and medical setting, she is excited to help others with their communication journey as an AAC Consultant with PRC-Saltillo! Amanda is committed to dispelling myths around AAC and creating a world where everyone has a voice.
