Link Up For Leadership 2021-2022
Join fellow practicing special education directors and supervisors for facilitated conversations about timely and pressing topics impacting programming for students with disabilities. The synchronous, interactive, and dynamic discussions will provide leaders the opportunity to dialogue about special education procedures and processes. Specific topics will be announced at the time of registration and will be prioritized based on participant input. Topics under consideration for the 2021-2022 school year include: Compliance Monitoring for Continuous Improvement (CMCI), effective use of federal and state funding for pandemic recovery, and improving Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).

On February 9, 2022 we are honored to have as our guest speaker, Dr. Dana Milakovic, Mental Health/AOD Specialist for the Office for Safe Schools at the PDE.
As special education leaders continue to balance their personal, professional, and supervisory responsibilities in this difficult school year, we know that support is vital, but how do we provide wellness support on top of our already loaded plates? This session will differentiate burn out, secondary traumatic stress, and compassion fatigue to assist leaders in knowing what level of support staff requires to move into a space of compassion resilience. Practical supports and strategies will be shared through collaborative discussions and suggestions to enable organizational and individual wellness.
Participants will be able to:
• Differentiate burn out, secondary traumatic stress, and compassion fatigue
• Discuss how organizational wellness supports individual wellness for administrators
• Share specific actions they can implement during their work week to support individual wellness
