PaTTAN Family Resources for Students with Complex Learning Needs
It is recognized that everyone is doing their best to manage work, self-care, children’s online education, and more during the COVID-19 pandemic. Families and professionals supporting children with disabilities face additional challenges. You are not in this alone. The Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN), in collaboration with the Bureau of Special Education, has created a website for families and general educators supporting complex learners at home. For the purpose of this website, a complex learner is a child, youth, or young adult with an intellectual or significant cognitive disability, multiple disabilities, and/or sensory impairment.

As an educational agency, we are on the list of places that are not “open,” but we are happy to share that we’re FULLY OPERATIONAL! We are fortunate to have staff who are able to work with families, students, and educators through remote capabilities.

We have videoconference, phones, and email systems in place so we are doing our best to keep serving statewide needs. Check out our initiative pages and you’ll see the full listing of how we can help you – through consultation, online learning, or just a phone call or email! In the meantime, we will keep our web page updated with the latest information and updates.
This section was developed to provide Resources and Supports for Educators, Families, and Students during the COVID-19 situation. These supports are provided at no cost via the Bureau of Special Education, Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Please check back frequently as this page will be updated regularly with new information.
