This webinar invites attendees to step into the world of autism with curiosity and an open heart. Russell guides participants through the power of human connection, honoring the unique journeys, emotions, and lived experiences of individuals on the autism spectrum. The session creates space for both children and adults to feel fully validated, fostering deeper empathy and understanding.
Objectives
- Describe autism from a strengths-based, person-centered perspective that emphasizes individual experiences and neurodiversity.
- Identify strategies to foster empathy, validation, and meaningful connections with autistic individuals across educational and community settings.
- Apply inclusive practices that support respectful communication and create environments where autistic children, youth, and adults feel understood, valued, and included.
Target Audience
Transition Coordinators, Special Educators, Administrators, Regular Educators, School Counselors, School Psychologists, Related Service Providers, Parents, Vocational Rehabilitation Staff, Developmental Programs Staff, Students and Family/Caregivers, Providers are welcome.
