The Service Coordinator’s Role in Supporting Coaching focuses on building understanding of caregiver coaching in early intervention. Participants will examine the purpose (“why”) of coaching across settings and its connection to child development. The session outlines how intervention approaches are structured to promote caregiver capacity, engagement, and confidence. Emphasis is placed on aligning service delivery with coaching practices embedded in daily routines. Participants will also identify effective strategies for clearly communicating information and collaborating with families. Practical application will support consistent, developmentally appropriate coaching practices.

Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

1. Explain the purpose ("why") of caregiver coaching by identifying two components connecting to development.
2. Describe how early intervention approaches are structured and how they align with caregiver coaching.
3. Identify/refine one strategy for Setting the Stage for caregiver coaching.

Target Audience

The Serving up Knowledge series is designed for Infant Toddler Service Coordinators and Service Coordinator Supervisors.
