Minding the Gap
Webinar
Session Dates
Tuesday August 18, 2026 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM - Webinar
Closed
This session introduces key types of caregiver learning gaps that influence participation and offers strategies to match support to each caregiver’s readiness and context. For all EIs working in Part C early intervention, these practices align with the expectation to coach families in natural routines and tailor supports to family-identified priorities.
Participants will learn how observation strengthens coaching, how to distinguish learning gaps, and how reflective conversations guide individualized, responsive support. These skills reinforce EI best practices across disciplines, helping providers embed intervention within everyday activities and strengthen collaborative partnerships with caregivers.
Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Describe how observation enables EI professionals to meet caregivers from where they are starting.
- Identify learning gaps that may be impacting caregiver learning and success with coaching in everyday routines and activities.
- Apply reflection as a tool to individualize caregiver support.
Target Audience
This session is designed for professionals coaching caregivers in Early Intervention with a focus on supporting Infants/Toddlers and their families in everyday routines and activities.
