Coaching Conversations use the monthly Coaching Corner newsletter to have collaborative conversations with colleagues through a Community of Practice model. This training will look at the importance of matching coaching to the caregiver’s needs and learning style as well as strategies to support the practice of matching. Why does matching matter? Come to the Coaching Conversation to find out more and join your colleagues from across the state in a breakout room discussion on this topic.

Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

1. Repeat and explain the types of adult learning styles, learning gaps and characteristics of the adult learner.
2. Describe the benefits for the caregiver and child when coaching supports are matched to caregiver needs and learning style as well as the potential pitfalls when there is a mismatch.
3. Identify strategies that can be used to coach caregivers demonstrating different learning gaps.

Target Audience

Early Interventionists, Service Coordinators, Evaluators, Leaders supporting young children and families—primarily serving B-2 but open to all age groups Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate individuals who have special needs as addressed by the Americans with Disabilities Act and who need assistance at this event.
