Strong, nurturing relationships are the foundation of healthy brain development in young children. In this session, based on The Growing Brain: From Birth to 5 Years Old curriculum, we will explore why relationships matter and how they shape a child’s cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Explain how early relationships influence brain architecture and overall development in children from birth to age five.
- Identify the key components of responsive caregiving that foster secure attachments and healthy brain growth.
- Identify the connection between positive relationships and social-emotional development in young children.
Target Audience
This session is designed for Infant Toddler and Preschool Early Intervention Service Professionals, Early Childhood Education professionals, and Home Visiting/Family Support staff.
