Strong, nurturing relationships are the foundation of healthy brain development in young children. In this session, based on The Growing Brain: From Birth to 5 Years Old curriculum, we will explore why relationships matter and how they shape a child’s cognitive, social, and emotional growth.

Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  1. Explain how early relationships influence brain architecture and overall development in children from birth to age five.
  2. Identify the key components of responsive caregiving that foster secure attachments and healthy brain growth.
  3. Identify the connection between positive relationships and social-emotional development in young children.

Target Audience

This session is designed for Infant Toddler and Preschool Early Intervention Service Professionals, Early Childhood Education professionals, and Home Visiting/Family Support staff.
