This interactive event will feature guided discussions led by PaTTAN Computer Science (CS) consultants and leaders from the Pennsylvania chapters of the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA). Unlike a traditional conference, an unconference puts participants in the driver's seat—you'll join smaller group conversations where everyone is encouraged to share ideas, ask questions, and learn from one another. Topics will focus on what's shaping CS classrooms today, including teaching Artificial Intelligence (AI) literacy, integrating artificial intelligence into computing instruction, recruiting underrepresented students, and implementing evidence-based practices. Whether you're new to CS education or a seasoned pro, bring your experiences and join the conversation!
Objectives
Participants will:
- Identify strategies for teaching AI literacy in K–12 computer science courses.
- Describe ways to integrate artificial intelligence tools into computing instruction.
- List approaches for recruiting and supporting underrepresented students in computer science.
- Identify connections between cybersecurity and computer science content.
- Identify evidence-based practices for computer science instruction.
Target Audience
