This foundational training is designed for professionals working in Infant Toddler Early Intervention (EI) who are responsible for tracking and supporting child development through effective progress monitoring. Participants will gain a clear understanding of what progress monitoring entails and its critical role within the EI framework. Learners will explore various data collection strategies, including frequency, duration, and quality of behavior, and learn how to apply these methods in functional settings.
The training also provides a detailed walk through of the Pennsylvania EI Session Note, highlighting how each section contributes to meaningful progress monitoring. Participants will be introduced to key tools and resources that enhance the accuracy and efficiency of monitoring developmental progress.
Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Accurately define progress monitoring and state its purpose within the Early Intervention (EI) framework.
- List at least three types of data (e.g., frequency, duration, quality of behavior) and identify two strategies for collecting data to support progress monitoring.
- Identify and describe how each section of the Pennsylvania EI Session Note contributes to progress monitoring.
- Name at least two tools or resources that support effective progress monitoring and describe how they can be used.
