Equity in education is a broad concept which may include: access, opportunity, culturally responsive/relevant practices, social justice, resource allocation, and self-awareness. Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) is a school improvement framework which provides a structure to ensure students are provided with the supports needed to be successful academically, behaviorally, and social-emotionally. Throughout the series, topics will range from general equity practices, self-awareness, data practices, academic equity, disciplinary equity and how to authentically engage families and communities.
- Participants will use the tenets of Culturally Responsive Leadership and the pillars of the Equitable Practices Hub to consider their leadership practices.
- Participants will identify components of their school systems which support or inhibit educational equities and gain general equity and equitable data practices to minimize the impact of systems that inhibit educational equity.
- Participants will engage in reflective and intentional opportunities to evaluate their abilities to operationalize academic and disciplinary equity.
Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate individuals who have special needs as addressed by the Americans with Disabilities Act and who need assistance at this event. Contact: Debra Jordan, at 800-441-3215 x 7224, or firstname.lastname@example.org
