Adults play a critical role in supporting early communication development through back-and-forth interactions with children. This session will identify strategies to expand and extend children's language in order to help them develop more mature and complex communication abilities over time.

Objectives

Participants will:

  1. Identify communication and cognitive milestones.
  2. List strategies for supporting early communication skills.
  3. Identify resources for supporting early literacy skills.

Target Audience

This training is intended for Early Intervention service personnel/providers, early childhood education professionals, and parents.
