Are you an SLP new to school-based settings? Then this training is for you! School-based SLPs face unique challenges—from managing caseloads and writing legally defensible reports to collaborating on multidisciplinary teams and supporting students with behavioral needs. This in-person, competency-based training will equip you with practical strategies, evidence-based practices, and tools to build your confidence and effectiveness in a school environment—so you can not only survive but thrive in school-based settings.
Objectives
At the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Identify the components of a legally defensible speech-language report in school settings.
- Apply IDEA-based eligibility criteria to manage caseloads effectively.
- Implement strategies for collaboration on multidisciplinary school teams.
- Select and apply evidence-based practices to meet student needs.
- Demonstrate proactive approaches to prevent challenging behavior.
Target Audience
Speech-Language Pathologists new to school-based settings (within the past 5 years)
