Come with your goal writing team and continue developing your skills for writing student goals! This training will walk your team through guiding questions, tips, and considerations for writing behavioral goals for students seated in AEDY. A portion of this training will provide your team a chance to practice goal writing by writing goals for fictitious students.
Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Describe the central role of behavior goals in the AEDY process.
- Identify sources of information that contribute to drafting an effective goal.
- Differentiate between types of goals to avoid and types of goals to create.
- Draft goals that account for a student’s current level of performance and set targets to build skills and/or knowledge to help the student be successful in their transition back to general education.
- Match progress monitoring method to goal types.

Sending LEA Administrators, AEDY Program Administrators and staff, Any LEA or AEDY Program staff who participate in the FPR Process
