Effective instruction begins with effective instructional/lesson planning. An effective instruction/lesson planning process is critical to the success of an integrated tiered system. Is aligned with grade- and/or subject level academic standards. 2. Ensures that all providers align their instructional scope, sequence and pacing of instruction with Tier 1. 3. Integrates academic, behavior and social emotional practices across the tiers. 4. Integrates the three principles of Universal Design for Learning.
Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
- Communicate the critical components of their current lesson planning process.
- Evaluate the degree to which the current lesson planning process is designed to meet the needs of all learners.
- List the steps to a lesson planning process that integrates academic, behavior and social emotional instruction across the tiers.
- Identify specific practices in the lesson planning process that are designed to increase student engagement and ownership.
