The Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Bureau of Special Education is pleased to announce the Pennsylvania Collaborative Futures: CS + AI Summit. This event will bring together educators, administrators, and counselors to share ideas, exchange strategies, and collaboratively develop action plans that expand access to computer science (CS) and artificial intelligence (AI) education.
The Summit theme, Engage. Empower. Excel. — Increasing CS Participation, reflects a shared commitment to sparking curiosity, equipping educators and students with the tools for success, and fostering excellence in CS. It underscores the importance of creating pathways that enable all learners to actively participate and thrive in CS and AI education—while preparing them for Pennsylvania’s future workforce.
Objectives
Participants will:
- Explain the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s objectives and initiatives for computer science education.
- Explain connections between core K–12 computer science practices to workforce readiness in Pennsylvania.
- Describe action plans to advance CS and AI education programs within their LEAs.
- List strategies and resources to strengthen and expand K–12 CS and AI programs.
Target Audience
K-12 educators, 7-12 Counselors, Administrators, and CTC Educators.
