National Autism Conference

Registration is now open for the 2021 National Autism Conference!

The National Autism Conference provides comprehensive, evidence-based information to assist educators, other professionals, and families in developing effective educational programming for all students with autism spectrum disorders. The conference occurs annually around the first week of August in beautiful State College PA. There are webstreaming opportunities for virtual attendance at many of the conference sessions.

In addition to the conference sessions, PATTAN also sponsors the Children’s Institute. To support family participation in the conference, a Children's Institute will be available. This institute is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of Special Education. Services are provided by the Central Intermediate Unit #10, using trained professional and support staff. The institute offers an on-site, structured, and fun environment for children and youth (six months through age 21) with autism, and their siblings, who are Pennsylvania residents.

The conference also includes a peer-reviewed poster session, special sessions highlighting topics of interest, and an Art of Expression exhibit featuring artwork produced by students functioning on the Autism Spectrum. A science camp for secondary students with Autism is provided by Penn State University in conjunction PATTAN.  The Conference website also provides a rich store of conference archives including full video record of many important conference presentations.
