Participants will review content from previous online learning related to Family Guided Routines Based Intervention (FGRBI) and Caregiver Coaching and apply the information specifically to embedding intervention into infant (under 12 months) everyday routines and activities. The number and types of routines for infants vary from older children who are beginning to be mobile, verbal and increasingly independent challenging early intervention providers to identify and embed specific targets that are meaningful for the child and family throughout the day.

Objectives

Participants will:

  1. Describe what functional child outcomes for infants are and how they are translated into “right sized targets” for embedded intervention through collaboration with caregivers.
  2. List strategies to support caregivers' participation in the identification of family priorities, child skills (targets) and the meaningful everyday routines and activities to support embedding intervention into the family’s everyday routines and activities.
  3. Identify key practices and principles of FGRBI and Caregiver Coaching that support collaborating with caregivers to embed intervention for infants that have been useful for other PT/OT/EIs working with Birth to 3 populations.
  4. List strategies for development of a Family 5Q Action Plan and strategies for monitoring progress on identified targets, routines, and intervention strategies using Session Notes.
