SEAP Autism Task Force Workgroup

The Special Education Advisory Panel (SEAP) held an initial meeting on January 27, 2005. The meeting focused on the findings and recommendations to education from the Autism Task Force. The Autism Task Force co-chairs, David Mandell and Nina Wall-Cote along with the Secretary of the Department of Welfare, Estelle Richman, presented an overview of the task force report to the SEAP workgroup and other interested parties. Dr. Linda Rhen, Director of the Bureau of Special Education, charged those assembled with the exciting task of creating next step recommendations to the Department of Education.

The SEAP Autism Task Force Workgroup held several meetings and  formulated specific recommendations for immediate actions and long term initiatives to improve the cross systems' services and supports for individual's with Autism Spectrum Disorders. This SEAP Austism Report was finalized and presented on December 1, 2005.
