Assessing to Learn:  Pennsylvania Benchmark Initiative Basic Information

4Sight Benchmark Assessments
The Pennsylvania 4Sight Benchmark Assessments are valid, reliable and aligned to the PSSA and provide an estimate of student performance on the PSSA, as well as PA Academic Standards and Assessment Anchor level data to guide classroom instruction and professional development efforts.  Most recent editions of 4Sight Benchmark Assessments are updated to reflect the most recent changes in Assessment Anchors.

4Sight Reading Versions available for 2010-2011 School Year (SY):

• Edition 5 Reading Grades 3-8 (complete test kits in paper and on-line version).  Please Note: There are only 4 tests.
• Edition 2 Reading Grades 9-11 (complete test kits in paper and on-line version).  Please Note: There are only 4 tests.

4Sight Mathematics Versions available for 2010-2011 SY: 

• Edition 3 Mathematics Grades 3-8 (complete test kits in paper and on-line version).  Please Note: There are 5 tests.
• Edition 1 Mathematics Grades 9-11 (complete test kits in paper and on-line version).  Please Note: There are only 4 tests.

Costs for 4Sight Benchmark Assessments for 2010-2011 School Year
4Sight Reading & Math Benchmark Assessments Grades 3-11:

• Paper version for Grades 3-11 is sixty-five dollars ($65.00) per classroom (set of 30) per subject (Reading / Math). 
• For information and costs of the online test, please contact the Success for All Foundation by contacting Monica Corbin at mcorbin@successforall.org. 
• There is NOT a separate or additional cost per subject area (Reading and Math) for the on-line version of 4Sight.  
• EAP and ABG funds may be used to purchase the 4Sight Benchmark Assessments for use in those initiatives.  Please refer to the program guidelines when using the respective funds to purchase 4Sight. 
  

Included in the Costs for 4Sight Benchmark Assessments 
The costs include materials (complete test kits) delivered throughout the school year.

• 5 tests for Grades 3-8 for Math
• 4 tests for Grades 3-8 in Reading
• 4 tests for Grades 9-11 in Reading and Math

The costs also include the use of the 4Sight Member Center, an on-line tool used for management of 4Sight data, disaggregated reporting and data analysis.
