PA Alternate System of Assessment (PASA)

The Pennsylvania Alternate System of Assessment (PASA) uses performance tasks to measure the knowledge and skills attainment of students with significant cognitive disabilities. Like the statewide-standardized test (the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment or PSSA), the purpose of the PASA is to provide information to school districts and other educational service providers that will help them improve instruction for students with disabilities.

This website provides information for educators to help them identify students who are eligible to take the alternate assessment. It also includes links to specific assessment information, the administrator's manual, a letter to parents, criteria for participation, and a power point presentation with trainer notes for turn-around training.
