School districts have a number of different assessments, in addition to the PSSA , that may be used to determine student progress. These assessments are intended to be direct, frequent, and directly related to academic standards. Assessments that create opportunities to deliver more effective instruction are the most valuable. They should provide information addressing student outcome measures so that instruction can be modified as a result of administering the assessment.
