These federal regulations provide the criteria that a State Education Agency must meet to receive federal funds to supplement its State's efforts to provide an appropriate public education to children with disabilities. These rules include State's eligibility, its use of funds, procedural safeguards for students, and required administrative procedures.

Part B applies to children who are age 3 through 21 years of age, who because of certain impairments, are deemed to be a child with a disability and in need of special education and related services.

For detailed Part B information view the federal regulations.
