PennData Reporting

PennData Reporting is a section of the IEP that applies to the amount of time students with disabilities spend in the regular education classroom per day. The IEP team calculates the percentage of time per day the student spends in the regular education classroom and indicates one of the following:

  • INSIDE the Regular Classroom 80% or More of the Day
  • INSIDE the Regular Classroom 79-40% of the Day
  • INSIDE the Regular Classroom Less Than 40% of the Day

For example: If the number of hours a student spends in the regular classroom per day = 5.5 hours and the total number of hours in a typical school day (including lunch, recess and study periods) = 6.5 hours, then calculate 5.5/6.5 X 100 =85%. Therefore, INSIDE the Regular Classroom 80% or More of the Day then would be selected on the IEP.

Detailed instructions related to PennData Reporting on the IEP can be found in Section VIII of the Annotated IEP
