American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Continuing Education Units

This credit type is commonly referred to as ASHA CEUs. ASHA members may earn ASHA CEUs through attending select PaTTAN events. Visit the ASHA web site for more information.

PaTTAN offers many opportunities for speech and language pathologists to earn CEUs toward keeping their ASHA certificate current. Topic areas include:

• Assessment, adaptation and remediation techniques for classroom application
• Assessment and intervention for oral motor issues
• Language disorders assessment and intervention
• The use of augmentative and alternative communication
• Audiologic habilitation/rehabilitation (i.e., cochlear implants, hearing aid use)
• Service delivery associated with speech/language/hearing
• Aphasia and other acquired neurogenic disorders of language cognition (i.e., traumatic brain injury)

Through an annual training series called Speech Language Professional Staff Development, several topics are addressed each year. These training events are posted on the PaTTAN Training Calendar. The dates for these training opportunities are spaced through out the year, giving speech language pathologists opportunities for in-depth, focused training.
