A “Workload vs Caseload” approach to therapy sounds great in theory, but what does it look like in the real world of a school-based Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)? This presentation is designed to provide time-saving strategies that will turn SLPs into intervention superstars without compromising SLP- specific skill sets. Participants will gain valuable strategies to help integrate classroom curriculum into therapy goals, learn to co-teach across grade levels, and push into all parts of the school day. Data collection strategies and scheduling for maximum impact will be a focus of the day, along with models of hundreds of grade-level specific ideas to take back and use tomorrow.

Objectives

At the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Describe time-saving strategies to integrate highly effective therapy into classrooms and curriculum, even with high caseloads.
  • State strategies to advocate for and initiate implementation of a workload approach to therapy in their schools.
  • Write measurable and authentic goals through the lens of curriculum that support the student in all school settings.
