PA LETRS Module 4, 2nd Ed.: The Mighty Word: Building Vocabulary and Oral Language

In Module 4 the focus is on building vocabulary and oral language. The learner will increase knowledge of relationships among words and the effective instructional practices to increase students’ vocabulary. (Focus: All grades)


Module 4 Attendees will:

  • Understand the many facets of word meaning
  • Appreciate the role of vocabulary knowledge in reading comprehension

Target Audience

Teachers of reading and spelling, including literacy consultants, coaches, reading specialists, special education teachers, regular education teachers, and general and special education administrators.

Individuals attending this course must arrive on time and stay the duration of the course in order to receive Act 48 Professional Education hours. Requests for exceptions are to be brought to the attention of the individual´s Superintendent or IU Director prior to the course.
