Special Education Leadership Summer Academy: Growth Matters

This day will focus on special education leadership strategies to build the capacity of special education staff and stakeholders. There will also be a session on illustrating Pennsylvania´s data tools and resources to help in analyzing data to improve student achievement.


Participants who attend this day of the Academy will:

  1. Describe strategies for including all stakeholders.
  2. Outline ways to build capacity of staff.
  3. Identify student growth over past years and determine plans for the future.
  4. Identify data tools and resources for schools to use to meet the needs of students.

Target Audience

New and aspiring special education leaders, Veteran special education leaders, Anyone responsible for providing leadership to those who work with students with disabilities

Individuals attending this course must arrive on time and stay the duration of the course in order to receive Act 48 Professional Education hours. Requests for exceptions are to be brought to the attention of the individual´s Superintendent or IU Director prior to the course.

Early-bird Registration fee: $225 (registration and payment must be received by 4:00 p.m., July 7, 2017 for early-bird fee) Regular Registration fee: $275 (All registrations and payments must be received by 4:00 pm, July 14, 2017).
