Communication, policies and procedures are critical components administrators need to show proficiency across their daily routines. Special Education Leaders will also learn about the recent Endrew F. court case and how it may impact future special education services.


Participants who attend this day will:

  1. Identify recent state and federal court cases that have impacted special education programming.
  2. Describe three skills necessary for an effective leader to demonstrate professional competence.

Target Audience

New and aspiring special education leaders, Veteran special education leaders, Anyone responsible for providing leadership to those who work with students with disabilities

Individuals attending this course must arrive on time and stay the duration of the course in order to receive Act 48 Professional Education hours. Requests for exceptions are to be brought to the attention of the individual´s Superintendent or IU Director prior to the course.

Full registration fee is required for each participant regardless of how many days attending.

Early-bird Registration fee: $225 (registration and payment must be received by 4:00 p.m., July 7, 2017 for early-bird fee)

Regular Registration fee: $275 (All registrations and payments must be received by 4:00 pm, July 14, 2017).
