As youth and young adults prepare to transition into post-secondary education/training, employment, and independent living opportunities, a critical aspect to maintaining success is having the knowledge and skills to safely and efficiently travel to-and-from a variety of end destinations. Direct and explicit instruction regarding transportation options to access one’s community is provided through travel instruction. This session will provide a broad overview of the established competencies to support the travel instructors’ service and instruction during community-based lessons as well as identify additional community transportation resources.
