Session 54 RtII: Roundtable Discussion: Students with Complex Support Needs within Tiered Systems of Support

Through the use of research-based practices, effectively instructing students with complex support needs within general education classrooms can be achieved. A recent case study in a Pennsylvania school provides evidence that impacts this topic. In an effort to improve student outcomes toward IEP goals and objectives and toward grade-level content standards, this study addresses the topics of behavior (teacher and student), data collection, assessment, explicit instruction, aligning content to the standards, programming for accommodation and modification of content, supplementary aids and services, and collaboration. Participants will have an opportunity to review the study and contribute to a facilitated discussion.
