As special education leaders, we are responsible for creating a culture that is responsive to people and issues. This session will focus on the essential skills of leadership that are more about attitude than aptitude! Topics to be discussed will include strategies that address the soft skills of leadership – the people skills needed to be a successful leader. These things include how technology has changed the way we interact with people and how we correspond with them, ways to build relationships with constituents, how to facilitate difficult conversations, team building, and tips for facilitating training, and holding meetings.
