Parent and family engagement, a well-established and critical factor related to improving student outcomes, has been deemed a significant priority within Pennsylvania’s Response to Instruction and Intervention (RtII) framework. The PA-RtII Parent Work Group, a subgroup of the RtII Statewide Task Force, provided major guidance and assistance on what constitutes ‘meaningful engagement’ of both students and their families within the RtII process.

In addition to providing training and technical assistance, the PA-RtII Parent Work Group also developed the PA-RtII Parent Toolkit. This product includes several ‘family’ friendly materials that are designed to assist parents with informed decision-making and meaningful involvement within their child’s educational experience and school’s overarching RtII implementation efforts.
