Supporting appropriate student behavior is a critical skill for today’s educators. This webinar series addresses RENEW, Universal Screening, and PaPBS at a Secondary Level. (Click on the session titles below to access a streaming media version of the webinar, which can be viewed asynchronously.)

Universal Screening
February 25, 2014 – 4:00PM – 6:00PM

Universal screening for behavior is the systematic assessment of all students to identify students at-risk for developing behavior problems. Jersey Shore Area School District administrators will discuss the use of the Student Risk Screening Scale (SRSS) within the school district. Data collection, data meetings and data-based decision making and interventions will be discussed.

PaPBS: Tier 1 at the Secondary Level
May 7, 2014 – 4:00PM – 6:00PM

In Tier One of the PaPBS model, universal or primary approaches that are preventative in nature are put into place (Sugai & Homer, 2002). These approaches are for all students, staff, and settings and include the development of school-wide expectations, a behavioral matrix, and reinforcement systems to reward desired social behavior. Outcomes, systems, data, and practices are continually evaluated when providing universal supports.
